it’s vivo again today, for the second time in barely a week.. brought mum there now that im a little more sure of the directions.. wanted to treat her to a good lunch.. also, we aimed to finish exploring every nook and cranny of vivo city today, hehe..

brought her to White Dog Café to let her have a try at western food.. mum loves her ‘Scallops Aglio Olio’.. we tried their Kiwi Passion Juice, and Oreo Cookies & Cream too.. lunch was great :)

also brought mum outdoor to look at the sea and the pool.. she spontaneously joined me in strolling in the pool =D other than that, we just shopped around, entering only Giant, and River Island to look at a pair of pumps i wanted to get for her.. and yay, we managed to complete vivo! *clap clap* =P

im very happy today, especially when i see mum enjoying herself so much.. she said we havent been to sentosa for a long time already but that it would cost a lot if we want to visit many of the attractions in there..
i hope to bring dad and mum there soon – dolphin lagoon and the underwater world, skyride, images of Singapore, Fish Reflexology.. and take the new monorail there and then the cable car back cos both of them have never travel in one before..
i’ve calculated that all these would take around $250.. hopefully i can get the first prize of $200 in the Microsoft Office competition..

anyway, bought half a dozen of donuts from vinco today.. waiting for sis to be back then we can all start trying =P

went vivo city with dd and grace today.. somewhere i wasnt familiar with despite having been there twice.. but luckily we had dd as our ‘tour guide’ today =D

came across a restaurant with a quirky name – White Dog Cafe; decided to give it a try.. the ambience is great as the restaurant provides an outlook of the sea, the merlion, and the monorail.. the cute boxes (shaped like a dog kennel), that are use for cakes takeaway, are especially eye-catching..
i ordered their ‘King Scallops’ which is scallops and linguini in black ink.. i guessed i would end up messy but i thought it would be fun to try.. true enough, i had black lips and teeth after that, hahha.. was delicious though.. shall bring mum there one day :)

anyway, there is a shop selling donuts at vivo.. it’s called Vinco Donuts.. i wonder how are the donuts there.. there were people queuing but not too many though.. yay competitors for Donut Factory! see they will still forget orders anot! wahaha =P

finished watching ‘Corner with Love’ already.. dad, mum, and me are craving for oyster egg (hao2 jian1).. got influenced cos the actor in the show was a great cook of oyster egg.. hehe.. dad suggested going old boon lay shopping centre tomorrow to have it.. though i dont eat oyster, im gladly willing to help eat the egg =P

im thinking of buying a good camera in the near future.. can bring with me everywhere i go.. comes in handy whenever there are moments to be captured.. meaningful to keep photographs.. shall save up for it :)

today is the first day of school, im happy to be back and to see so many familiar faces again.. in the morning, as usual, Dover was swarmed with lots of edgy-looking year ones.. reminded me of how i was two years back then.. cant believe we are year threes already..

had our first BD (business development) class today, mr. foo seems like a strict but reasonable lecturer.. mei and me finally got to meet our teammates though one (mao qi) was missing.. nonetheless, sheris and hsueh min are rather nice, hope we would have a nice time working together..

am watching this new taiwan tv serial that dad bought recently.. dad bought a ou3 xiang4 ju4 leh! hahha..

i turned 19 today!

went Clarke Quay with dd in the afternoon, wanted to go explore places we have never really been before.. discovered some really interesting gift shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants.. tried cinnamon roll for lunch and it’s simply delicious! =D

it’s nice to sit on the steps along the Singapore River, not having to do or think about anything.. enjoyed the serenity and the breeze.. the evening sun, the shop houses, and the tourist cruises are beautiful..

ate to our hearts’ content today.. went to IndoChine for dinner..


for starter, we had some kind of ‘popiah’ where we had to wrap garlic, onion, chilli, peanut, mint leaf, and BBQ chicken and prawn sausage in lettuce.. but i still preferred dipping the sausage in sweet chilli, hehe..
next, we had venison (deer meat) for our main course.. were rather disappointed upon seeing that it was just a dish full of venison, without any sides.. it tasted nice though, the meat was tender.. but we had to take breaks in between cos we were getting a little sick of meat.. hahha..

headed for ice-cream at haagen-dazs after that!! i like the ambience there, the comfy couch, and soft music in the background.. we shared ice-cream waffle and had a cup of cappuccino each.. the rum and raisin, and chocolate chocolate chip ice-cream, strawberries and banana slices with maple syrup were heavenly! the mild-bitterness of the cappuccino goes really well with the sweetness of the ice-cream..
tried many new stuff together and i think all were great! i felt like a tai-tai today, hehe.. enjoyed myself very much :)

the two-month attachment finally came to an end, sad to say.. lih pin gave us a treat at a korean restaurant (in International Plaza) yesterday.. was a pity su ling didnt get to join us cos she was off that day.. luckily she was here today so we had a chance to talk to her before we leave.. had coffee together.. realised there is actually a cafe on the 9th floor, for the first time all this while! hehe.. drank Choc Mocha Latte, which tasted as yummy as it sounds.. unusual cos i never liked coffee..

had heavy feelings when i reached the workplace in the morning, not knowing when would be the next time i would be coming back again.. am really thankful for the opportunity to do my internship in GIC (Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Pte Ltd).. have gained many fruitful lessons working around skilled professionals, listening to them share their life experiences..

had a great time at GIC, nice people they have got there.. especially the department i’ve been allocated to (Investment and Data Valuation Department: Pricing and Valuation Division).. never expected myself to enjoy attachment but im glad i did.. and a lot..

greatly appreciated the guidance and patience of my two supervisors (su ling and lih pin), for the hospitality they have extended to daniel and me, and for the time they have set aside for us despite their hectic work schedule.. they were very appreciative for the setups and mapping we have done in assisting some of their new implementations.. it’s nice to be appreciated, especially when im only an intern.. i hope i would be able to work there again in future..

lih pin has been the one assigning tasks to us.. it was fun working with him, he’s like a big brother to us.. it was funny to tease him about getting a girlfriend and be off marrying soon at his age of 28.. that time he told us about his friendster, daniel said "wa you so steady also got friendster one ar?", and he replied "of course la, i very young one leh".. hahha.. he’s a data analyst now but would soon be taking up the position of executive data analyst this may.. am happy for him cos i think he has worked very hard for it..

su ling has been a great mentor to us.. i admire her alot cos she’s very capable for her age (early 30s i think).. outstanding at work, and happily married with kids (saw their picture on both her handphone and computer wallpaper).. it seems like she’s juggling work and family life very well, switching between her many roles.. she’s not snobbish at all despite of the high position she holds.. and she carries herself very well.. i wonder what i would be like ten years down the road.. i hope i can be like su ling when im of her age..

also not to forget are wonderful colleagues such as soon kit, john, and tze meng.. and the friendly road ushers and cleaners..

guess that’s why i hope i could stay longer.. these people have made me feel really welcomed.. working there also gave me a sense of belonging despite it being just a short two-month period.. su ling and lih pin said i could go back there to work after graduating from poly and before entering university.. im eagerly looking forward to that..

went raffles city with foong and mei after work to collect foong’s donuts (initially).. in the end one of the staff at the donut factory said she didnt receive our orders.. while another staff said pre-orders today were cancelled cos they couldnt cope with it.. i understand the possibility of such situation occuring cos of their heavy customer traffic.. but im rather irritated with that staff who told us there was nothing they could do.. she insisted that she has alerted all customers about the cancellation and maligned that i must have missed her call.. my phone was on the whole day but i didnt receive a single call! she sounded as though it was our fault.. so irresponsible! anyway, i’ve tried the donuts sis brought back yesterday.. they didnt look as impressive as the pictures they put up, and are too sweet in my opinion.. i prefer our school’s one, cheap, yummy, and NO queue, NO forgetting of orders.. hahha.. just quite unhappy with their attitude cos i’ve promised foong that she would get her two dozens and i knew she’s very looking forward to them.. im dead guilty about it.. sorry foong!

saw loon on my way back just now, he was running after a bus which i initially planned to board.. i guess he didnt see me.. i was rather flustered for this is the first time i’ve seen him after we broke up.. called dd cos i needed someone to talk to calm myself down (thank you dd, hehe)..

i purposely waited for the next bus, luckily the one he was on was quite packed so gave me an excuse to wait for another one.. could have just walked up and say hi.. but i dont know how leh.. that time he asked if we could still be friends after we broke up and i said yes, but if one day i were to see him somewhere face-to-face, i wouldnt know what to say or how to react..

anyway, he sms-ed me to wish me ‘happy birthday’ just now and i said ‘thank you’.. he replied saying we dont have to be so formal cos he’s not used to it.. he asked me to sleep early cos he said im surely very sleepy already.. so i replied that ya im sleepy and wished him good night.. he sms-ed again, this time saying “ya lor, i know your pattern one”..
haii.. know what pattern.. and it’s weird to see him just now, seeing him as a friend.. i dont know how im really feeling now, i just dont like him sounding as if he knows me very well.. decided to change my blog to a private one, only for buds, dd, and sis.. cos he knows about my blog.. and i dont want him reading it.. dont know why.. dont know if he has been reading but i hope he has not..

school is starting next monday.. we would be year 3s!! now that we are going back to school again, i was hoping to be working still.. to think i had a different thought when attachment first started.. how contradicting! hehe.. i think both have its good and bad.. for now, i prefer working.. but one thing i like about school is spending time with buds :)

my supervisor was in a great mood today, i think she got promoted cos other colleagues were congratulating her.. she gave us ‘A’ for both conduct and performance! some improvements finally, whooray!!

had lunch with mei at maxwell, first time going there for lunch together, and we met gris and liangyu! so coincidence! am happy at the same time cos i havent seen gris for a long time ever since attachment started.. had lunch together =D


anyway, was surfing the net for pictures of flowers in the morning.. i think sunflowers are cute, especially their furry center!
koh came over to instruct me on some stuff and left shortly after that.. he rushed over again to help me change my computer window when a small-sized lady walked past.. he whispered "big boss come already!"..
phew!! luckily he informed me and saved me from any trouble! must be on a watchout for petite ladies for the rest of my time here! hehe..

completed GEM (General Elective Module) registration in the morning, signed up for module "Effective Speaking Skills".. nice to have mei and foong in the same class as me :) hope to learn something useful from there!
